Homecoming 2022 Recap
Westlake High School held their homecoming dance on October 8th 2022, the homecoming football game was hosted at their home field on October 7th.
Westlake High School Principal Rob Woods, said that there were around 1,000 students attending the dance which “made the check-in system more difficult than years prior.” Long lines of students from the main office to the parking lot were reported.
Head Supervisor for Student Council and Event Planner, Mrs. Clark felt it was the “perfect system” and thought it “looked great especially with the decorations.” Clark is in charge of running the majority of the dance this year and last, she also said it is “not practical to be planned outside again” due to weather.
Norah Madden, a freshman at Westlake High School, says she was not very impressed by the event and had held low expectations for the dance itself. She claims it was “better than the eighth grade dance” however, the spirit week that she looked forward to was “kind of lame, especially Monochrome Monday.”
Sources have said Winter Spring Formal Fling will have modifications because of student feedback along with next year’s homecoming to make it more enjoyable for all.
